Round 11: Sc2tog around. (6 sc)
Stuff the pumpkin with polyester fiberfill before closing it completely.
Finishing the Pumpkin:
After the last round, fasten off, leaving a long tail.
Using the yarn needle, weave the tail through the front loops of the remaining 6 stitches and pull tight to close. Secure with a knot and weave in the end.
Pumpkin Stem Pattern:
Foundation: Attach brown yarn to the top center of the pumpkin.
Round 1: Ch 5, sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and each remaining ch. (4 sc)
Round 2: Sc in each stitch back towards the base (this creates the stem).
Finishing the Stem: Fasten off, leaving a short tail. Use the tail to sew the stem to the top of the pumpkin. Secure with a knot and weave in the ends.
Optional Pumpkin Leaf:
Foundation: Attach green yarn near the base of the stem.
Leaf: Ch 4, sl st in the 2nd ch from the hook, hdc in the next ch, dc in the last ch.
Finishing the Leaf: Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Finishing Touches:
Shape your pumpkin by gently squeezing it and adjusting the stuffing as needed.
Add extra stitches around the sides with the orange yarn to create ridges if desired.
And that’s it! You now have a cute and easy fall-inspired mini pumpkin plushie. This makes a great project for beginners and can be customized in various colors and sizes for a festive autumn display. I personally use Bernat Blanket Yarn for this project and it worked up in about an hour! Enjoy!
